Honey bees use social information in waggle dances more fully when foraging errors are more costly

After following a waggle dance indicating an unfamiliar food source, temporarily unemployed foragers more often return to their familiar food source instead of searching for the unfamiliar food source indicated by the dance. This preference for the familiar food source was particularly strong when the distance to it was small.
